My favorite time of year is Spring when everything comes into full bloom. The Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC are set to peak March 20, 2012 to March 23rd, just in time for my birthday! I have so many fond memories of taking the children downtown to walk around the Tidal Basin, visit the Lincoln Memorial and Mall for picnics and relaxation. Here in the photo (about 1994) the kids brought along the grey tackle box that their grandmother converted into an artist carry all container for them. Renee had so thoughtfully filled it with colored pencils, sketch pads and art supplies for them to enjoy. She was an artist and wanted to share her love of art with them at an early age. I still have the sketches of their artwork of that special day.
